No Privilege Just Words - A unique project founded by an Enfield teacher
Created by Alfie Egembah, a teacher of over 15 years, No Privilege Just Words is a collection of over 20 books that explore race by authors who are Black, Asian and/or have an ethnic minority background.

Inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement and the open conversations it sparked in recent years, Alfie aimed to include and inform young people. This project aims to empower children and young people by encouraging access to texts that explore race through a representative collection.
Since 2020…
NEXUS curated a book list of over 20 books and delivered them to each secondary school in Enfield. Every year during black history month, new titles have been added and celebrated through posters which again are delivered to every secondary school.
