Who are we?

The Power to Make a Change project was created by Platinum Performing Arts Academy based in Edmonton, North London. We offer leading training in the performing arts for young people aged between 3 to 21.

What do we aim to do?

We aim to help support young people and provide them with a platform to boost their confidence and pursue their dreams. We started Power to Make a Change as a project in 2019 and we have been fortunate enough to have secured 5 Years funding and support from the National Lottery Community Fund, to achieve our vision in offering important projects like this for our young people.

How do we work?

We use the creative arts as a tool to deliver a platform for young people to speak up about the challenges that they face day-to-day. We support young people to build their confidence and the ability to choose the right path.

Traditionally, we turn Power to Make a Change into a staged production which explores the lives of young people through the arts. However, due to restrictions made because of COVID-19, this year we worked on developing this project as a short film, involving a lot of young people within our community.

Our film follows the lives of four teenagers and explores relevant social issues and challenges that our young people face today.
