3 years of NEXUS Enfield… How time flies!

We have been lucky enough to celebrate our community for the third year running on the 24th February 2023. Guests ranged from project partners, young people, local councillors and celebrity guests.

The event started with some light networking and hors d'oeuvres by 2 Sweet Occasions. The food reflected our amazing diverse community of Enfield with a variety of dishes from various cultural backgrounds.

After an hour of food and mingling, it was time for the event to start! Our hilarious host Kat B took to the stage and kept us laughing throughout. The audience got to see a fantastic performance by Platinum Performing Arts

Followed by a performance by the JOE Morris Boxing Club. We got to see how our young people in Enfield get active!

Use Your Voice came after with an emotive spoken word performance by YoungneXus’ Shiloh.

After this portion we had Courtney Brown and BBC Radio London’s Eddie Nestor on stage discussing Father2Father.

We then got to watch a performance by the young people of Aylward School. Through a partnership between the Rudolph Walker Foundation and Intermission Youth, these young actors prepared their show during their NEXUS 325 sessions.

Another of our talented YoungneXus Ambassadors, Taylan, took to the stage. Taylan was awarded a Holler Hero award two years ago, and on our anniversary we got to celebrate his continued growth and excellence.

Councillor Needs then gave a brief synopsis of the impact of NEXUS.

And finally… the awards! We got to hand out some awards for exceptional members of staff.

Jo Fear: Winner of the Community Impact Award

Myron Mckay: Winner of the Community Impact Award

Mervin Cato: Winner of the Tripod Award

And…that’s a wrap! We thank everyone for attending the NEXUS 3rd Anniversary event. We can’t pull this off without our amazing community of Enfield. To each young person who stays in school, to each member of staff who learns something new, to each community member who chooses to support the next generation… We thank you. You are the pride of Enfield.
