Who are we?

Kidzplay CIC is a community interest company that focuses on enhancing the life chances and outcomes of young people through positive activities, groups and clubs.

Our provision aims to enhance the cultural capital of the young people and families who we work with.  We offer a range of enrichment and diversionary opportunities through the development of lifelong skills and exposure to new experiences and opportunities.

What do we aim to do?

Our main objective is to provide young people in the London Borough of Enfield with positive activities that will act as a diversionary tactic and enhance their life choices and outcomes. Specifically, we aim to:

1. Reduce the incidence of serious youth violence between 3-5 pm in the borough.

2. Improve the health and wellbeing of young people in the area by providing access to healthy eating and budgeting skills.

3. Increase the educational attainment of young people in the borough through accredited courses and pathways into various industries such as music, fashion and beauty.

5. Increase students’ cultural capital by exposing them to new opportunities and outdoor activity.

How do we work?

Our team of experienced staff and providers have extensive qualifications and experience in counselling, social work, and youth services.  We also provide veiled mentoring. This reinforces the positive outcomes of the above services.

Using trauma informed, systemic and restorative practice models of intervention, we support and empower the young people and their families to develop sustained changes.

1. On-site cookery programme: A cookery programme that offers young people healthy eating and budgeting skills. We also address independent life skills and the cost of living crisis through the AQA unit award scheme.

2.  Afro hair braiding and Wig installation. We offer cohorts of 8-12 students the opportunity to learn the creative skills involved in Afro hair braiding and Wig installation. This will be teamed up with how to market the newly found skills into a business what can be marketed on-line using various social media platforms

3. MTTB: Is an 8 week programme aimed at giving students an insight into the music industry and is facilitated by the UK grime artist Maxwell D

4. On-site safe gaming hub: We will provide a safe and supervised environment for young people to engage in age-appropriate gaming activities.

5. The 6 I’s. Is a 6 week intervention programme delivered by a former Deputy Head and Inclusion lead aimed at addressing challenging behaviours of the most marginalised and at risk group of students aged 11-16
