Who are we?

Victim Support is an independent charity dedicated to supporting victims of crime and traumatic incidents in England and Wales.

 

What do we aim to do?

We provide specialist help to support people to cope and recover to the point where they feel they are back on track with their lives.

How do we work?

The CYP Youth Advocate Programme provides free, confidential, trauma informed, practical and emotional support to Children and Young People, aged 10 – 25yrs, who have been victims or witnesses of Serious Youth Violence or who have been bereaved or significantly impacted by Homicides relating to Serious Youth Violence.

The support is delivered on a 1:1 basis, with the level and pace of support being determined by the young person. There is no time limit to the support provided and the service is completely free.  

The focus is around Serious Youth Violence, this is a broad term but it covers issues such as – Criminal and Sexual Exploitation, Grooming, Gangs, County lines, Knife crime and Youth violence.
